Weeeee.. It felt so good to paint! I missed it. Above is what I got to tonight and below is what it was before. I decided to add mountains, get rid of some clouds. Eventually I'm going to get rid of those bottom right clouds. They look weird to me.

 

Been a while again but now that I'm done making that pesky Halloween costume I want to get back to my paintings and art. The costume really was a struggle for me just cause sometimes I get to confident in a skills and assume I can do something, when really...nope nope nope I can't. In the end I think everything turned out okay looking. This is my friend Jackie!!! I love you Jackie!!!!

Two more work people. one I'm really happy with the other..I feel like is a hard guess. Which I'd like to say, I'm going to do everyone in the O.R. (probably not all Doctors cause I think some wouldn't care) so please don't think just cause I haven't got yours done is any indication of my fondness of you. I'm not doing these in any particular order. Just remember when I bring my group tomorrow, if your not in there you'll eventually be. It takes me me roughly 1 1/2 hours per person so included what it costs to make them and time spent I cannot crank them out quickly, and sometimes people are just hard to draw (which got me on this subject to begin with) Anyways any guess would be great. If a lot of people get one of them wong, she'll probably be scrapped and tried again later.

Woot Woot. Another project done! Which I also got alot of my costume done. I'll post that when it's all done instead of as i'm doing it. But for now here's one for Amanda> It's a magnet. =)

This is my printing page. I hate to waste the Plastic shrink paper, so even if I don't have need for 17 raccoons, I may in the future. =). This is of her two Kiddos. Below are what I drew them from.

Oomph I've been sick the past 3 days and today around 4 I started to feel better other than a very soar throat and (yey) my motivation came back for doing stuff. Next Friday is the hospital Halloween Party and I'm making my own costume. Mines all gonna be handmade and I was starting to panick thinking I wasn't gonna want to do it. But yes, after my cold lifted I put to work making the most difficult part of the costume the wings.

Here's what I'm basing them off of. I can't make them as big due to a compact dance floor, and I can't make then as detailed due to them getting to heavy..

 

I started with 9 gauge wire and cut out the pieces I needed

 

Added black floral tape.

 

Then built them up with the designs I wanted..

 

So after I get the other side made. I'll probably take electrical tape and make the edges smoother. I'm going to be putting colored cellophane over the black part and LED lights underneath. So I'm not sure if I need to worry how neat the black will look since it'll be partially obscured.

 

 

Then i'll ask sweet sweet Jackie to help me sew them onto my top (whatever that's going to be) I also just realized that the right bottom thingies need to be facing the other way. Whoops.

 

 

Hmmm I'm not sure I really wanted to post this I hate when it feel/looks good then when you take a picture it looks not right....

This is where I left off from last night

and afterwords.That pesky sheen needs to be destroyed somehow. I've tried blocking with with a paper, different angles, lowering the light. I'll figure it out eventually. As I was painting the breast cancer girls called demanding money from me and I was trying to be nice getting off the phone with them but they are dodgy and kept me on, forgot I was painting for a second in the heat of conversation and brought my paintbrush up to itch my chin and ate cad lemon yellow..-_-

This is sometihng I did for my good friends Rick and Sally. Again Rick if you've noticed pops up in alot of my art work and you finally get a real picture of him =)

Work people. I heard we had around 40 too many people in the OR.... I guess I should of known by how many magnets I've been making for people. haha. Of course the higher ups in corporations with their brilliant wisdom will cut a ton of shifts, then realize they can't operate a hospital that scantily. Then hire more people then towards the end of the year, let people go then hire them back. It always happens. So I guess I can always count on making heap tons of people magnets for the rest of my life (j/k I wont be there forever=D)

I'm starting a honker! It's a commission and I think it's 30" by 40".  Not the biggest size of canvas out there but the biggest painting I've ever done and I'm really not prepared for it.

My easel is a lot to small for it. It sits at a tilt and blocks my little t.v. and pokes my sun blocker (i.e. grungy wool blanket thrown over the window) Here is a quick sketch. There isn't a whole lot of objects to this painting. Mainly clouds a cow and grass. It took me 2 whole days to work up the courage to start. Blank white canvas are intimidating specially when you have to stand on a chair to reach the top.

I decided I didn't want to do it just the same color as the picture so I'm making it a sunset scene so I gooped Cad red light and mixed in with the blue and brown. everything will need to have cad red mixed into it.

 

I also decided never leave your paintings on the initial start with any white left. Doesn't matter if your not sure what needs to go in a place just block it in with color. White is scary and it makes it harder to start back up.  Just like it was hard for me to start on a white canvas. They say you can cover it in a earthy tone like Yellow Orche before making any kind of start but I like to skip that part and just make sure I get rid of all the white. Also these are the very undercolors, they look kinda muddy and gunky and grayish. But the "cleaner" your colors are the more they stand out. So you need the grungy and cleaner contrast. Tommorrow i'll start cleaning up the clouds and maybe? finish them or at least most of them.

My mom suggested I draw Racoons and Beavers since they are so "cute" so here is a Racoon and Beaver. They'll be future magnets and earrings. It's good news, Rocking Rudys in Missoula is taking in some of my magnets to sell at their store. I'm nervous and excited. =)

TIme to start the Halloween costume, not that I'm not excited for Halloween and the finsished product, I don't take much joy out of making it at least not the sewing part. I'm sure I'm going to make some sewers out there cringe when they see my hack job sewing..
 I want to be a  Fey or Fairie Dragon from World of Warcraft.

Theres not really a premade costume out there so welp making it on my own and we already talked about my awful sewing skills. I started with the gloves...

I traced my hand and arm from paper and added 1/4 in border around it

Pinned the paper before I cut the fleece

 

Added the pins before sewing (fleece is slippery lil'devil when sewing it)

 

That's the blue sleeve

 

The tricky part is the hand. Since he has little yellow claws I have to do the fingers separate.

 

Again I pinned the fabric, and sewed it.

Crap they were a match for me and kicked my butt. Way to small, holes in a few places, I had to pull really hard to ge tthem back off.

Cringe worthy picture for sew people right there, they look freaking hideous..

 

On I guess not as bad..It will be in a bar and dark and full of drunk people. I think they will do. haha! But If I have time I thought adding sequins to them would help..um preety them up?

 

Next will be the wig and then the wings then the tail, then the body (so much to do!!!)

Helllooooooo!  I did three drawings tonight..  (the walrus is tiny!!!!!!!!!!)

My first vendor show (apple days) went really well. It gave me great insight to how those shows operate. I also wanna thank Luke, who had a lot of awesome information for me for future events. I'll be much better prepared for the next one whenever I decide that will be. My next posts are going to be work people and commissions I need to catch up on. (Marissa, Amanda and Tony..) Work people as I feel like it, and requests I got from the show today. I think my friend Marissa is occupied tonight with Salsa dancing so maybe someone else will have a chance to guess the work people since she's leet at it. haha.
