Yeesh it's been a while, sorry. I can't promise i'll be posting every day but i'll sure try. Apple Days is coming up and most my time has been spent putting it together so not much time for drawing. Butttt I did decide to work on Corel a bit tonight, remember these people?
I'll be waiting to actually turn them into magnets and bring them into work. I burned through my current stock of Shrink Paper, so i'll need to order more before I can.

Lots of Computer paintings today. I tried to get into my oil painting but I couldn't at least these are easy enough to do and I know there's an end in sight. Although the black Pomeranium is... just a big black ball of fluff. So it was tougher to color. haha.
Tuesdays my day off so i'll get that oil painting done that day I promise! and once Apple days is over i'll make sure to start making the OR employees magnets again.

I'm adding yellow to it (slowly!) after some suggestions from social media friends. Again once it dries again i'll probably finish it. I'm happy I got as much as I did tonight, my friend from work, Rick, encouraged me to work on this weekend, even though I didn't feel like it, so thanks Rick =D
P.s. Rick is the one I painted earlier in the blog of him laying on the couch and now his dear Sally has it hanging up at ..school (?) haha

Nothing exciting to post... I'm at that awful awkward stage of a painting where you wanna scrap it. I'm only using 4 colors and white so it gets confusing how to make colors stick out without looking to much like other things. It's good to post photos though, I can see what's really weird looking.
These were the process pictures in filling in the grass.. Flowers need fixed/added more.
and the grass going to seed needs to be different lengths, whoops. See picture are good, I didn't notice these with my face 2 inches from my painting (I got paint in my hair)

So you can see the colors under the white
What the painting will look like.
Thanks for looking and your support, I'm very shy to putting my art there, but it wont go anywhere if I leave it in the house. Have a great night!

I almost like it better all black than the copper color =\..But oh well it's started. I also don't think I should of used my good paints and stuck with the cheap 90 cent stuff. Also don't judge me on my floor *yikes* it's my messy artist floor and I wouldn't be happy if it was clean. haha.
Painted all black..
Then colored with copper, cadmium yellow, burnt sienna, pthalo blue, alizarin Crimson.. and hey it looks all copper. I don't know what color to paint the tree. I can't do brown since he's a brownish shade. I still need to paint the legs, ears. Then i'll make resin eyes.

Here's what I ended the day with...
I added an extra coat of flour onto Sir Elephant and smooth out and rougher of the bumps. I'll be really glad when it's done and out of my art room. It takes up a lot more room than it needs to and I keep walking into it's ear. Once it's dry at this point i'll sand it down a bit and then paint (weeeee my favorite part)
This is how I started to add the branches by taping floral stems in clumps and at the end of the twirly tree.
Then covered the leaves with a bag so I don't get flour paste on them.
This is the last bit of art (macaw, Toucan, hummingbird) that I've done the in the last bit. After I baked them these are all shrunk.
Laying everything out to get resined
and I did have time for a blue macaw coloring..yey..

Yey! it's really starting to come together now! Only one more day of being elbow deep in bread dough *cheers*
To start with where I left off: I molded two tusks out of aluminum foil and stole some sort of pipe insulation from downstairs and cut it to the right size.
To start with where I left off: I molded two tusks out of aluminum foil and stole some sort of pipe insulation from downstairs and cut it to the right size.
I then taped the tusks on
and added the pipe insulation to cover them to make it look like where the skin meets the tusk.
I made aluminum foil blobs and then used a hammer to make the eye sockets.
The ears (this part was the worst!) was cut from this wire mesh. I have so many holes in my hand now from those sharp little bastards. I drew the ear with a sharpie across the mesh so I could see where to cut.
Taped the outer edges of the ears to make it less sharp, then taped them on.
Dug a hole in his back and stuffed the stick I was using as the tree trunk. Then added foil around the bottom so the roots could be added.
Then paper mache' out the wazoo. The roots were made by molding the foil and taping them. I didn't think about this part till I was covered in paper mache paste so the foil container looks bad now. The top will be a bit tricker since it's so heavy now and after the paint and sealant I need to find something lighter but that will have a lot of branches. My end goal is to put clips (about 100) within the branches and leaves to clip my earring (below) onto.
Anyways maybe on Payday i'll get the branches and hopefully be done by next Tuesday. I hope now you can see what it is <3 (not a pinanta Marissa!!!)
