Ugh,

I was bound and determined to make a beanie tonight, make and finish it. I made about 30 character beanies for a birthday party about 8 years ago and swore I'd never make a beanie again. But of course like all hobbies do, they itch again and I decided to try it again. Again i'll just say the following images will make some sewers out their nauseous as I'm apparently a terrible sewer.


I started with four dome shaped pieces of Fleece and pinned them all together and then the bottoms up (I did not like how that turned out so next time i'll do it differently)

 Then I cut out the black face mask and layed it to show how it should lay on the hat.

 

I folded the  edges on the black face mask to hopefully make it look cleaner then sewed.

 

Ears next... I cut out 4 of these things

 

Extracted the middle on 2 of them

 

added some pink fabric

 

I have no clue how to describe the pinning ( This entire hat was done without instructions just winging it) but this picture hopefully shows it somewhat

 

The second ear looks much cleaner

I forgot to take picture sof attaching the ears. Basically I seamed ripped holes in the finished tan beanie then stuffed them in  and sewed the beanie back up. and this is what they look like. I don't own a smart phone so I have to use my bulky camera...

 

 

 

I had major problems wit the eyes. I wanted to use a zig zag stich to clean up the edges of the eyes so it's not just fleece edges sticking out. but my zig zag skips (any sewers know how to fix this??) I fought with it for about 30 minutes and gave up for the night. But this is sorta how it's gonna look when it's finished.

I hope you guys had a great Holiday season <3  I haven't posted for a while, I started really getting into Etsy attempting to sell on there. It was a bigger process than I expected. So much to consider and do. But I miss posting on my blog and for any new people who start reading this you'll get peeks into future magnets that will eventually make it up to etsy.

I'll pick up somewhat where I left off cause I know  the mass of people are wondering about the chicken that was doing the splits. One thing I've learned with using resin the less sharp edges the better. Anything Sharp edges causes the resin the drip right off due to...science? The Chicken feet took 3 coatings to make sure that it was completely covered.

DId some boxer varients.  I don't know how I feel about the brindle one, it looks like a demented tiger. I figured since some people are opposed to cropping ears I should start included non cropped ears (and maybe tails)

Darn it!

I complain so much I have so much to catch up on. So what do I do come home and spend the next 6 hours baking a cake. Haha. The going fishing the next day. Anyways i'm posting the cake, i'll consider it art. Even if my artistic skills don't transfer over to Cake decorating skills. Here is another one of my favorite person at work. Rick Cordier. He had his birthday today, hence the late posting of it (I wanted it to be a surprise today)!!! And yours truly with 1 of her 4 fish she caught.

Before the fondant, there was so many calories to that cake. (it's covered in hot fusge, buttercream frosting, and about 15 diffrent candy bars crunched up.

I have so many scanned pictures in my computer I can't find anything i'm looking for to work on. So other than working on call this weekend i've been trying to get the rough outlines done and then combine them all on one page so when I do want to finish them, they'll be easier to find. Anyways I figured I could post what they look like, for before and afters.

This isn't even close to what i have left to do..Bleh

Does anyone know where this cat is from? I think it may need some work still, which i'll finish tomorrow.

I finally set up an Etsy site for my magnets and figured I need to keep getting new ones made. So tonight it's a German Short hair and a Hedgehog. These two were the most requested animals from Apple Days.

 

Weeeee.. It felt so good to paint! I missed it. Above is what I got to tonight and below is what it was before. I decided to add mountains, get rid of some clouds. Eventually I'm going to get rid of those bottom right clouds. They look weird to me.

 

Been a while again but now that I'm done making that pesky Halloween costume I want to get back to my paintings and art. The costume really was a struggle for me just cause sometimes I get to confident in a skills and assume I can do something, when really...nope nope nope I can't. In the end I think everything turned out okay looking. This is my friend Jackie!!! I love you Jackie!!!!

Two more work people. one I'm really happy with the other..I feel like is a hard guess. Which I'd like to say, I'm going to do everyone in the O.R. (probably not all Doctors cause I think some wouldn't care) so please don't think just cause I haven't got yours done is any indication of my fondness of you. I'm not doing these in any particular order. Just remember when I bring my group tomorrow, if your not in there you'll eventually be. It takes me me roughly 1 1/2 hours per person so included what it costs to make them and time spent I cannot crank them out quickly, and sometimes people are just hard to draw (which got me on this subject to begin with) Anyways any guess would be great. If a lot of people get one of them wong, she'll probably be scrapped and tried again later.
